Rules:
This
competition will be conducted under the rules of the
Fédération Internationale de Volleyball
except as modified by the Arctic Winter Games International Committee as noted
in Section 6.

a)
Junior Male:
born in 1990 or later
b)
Junior Female:
born in 1990 or later

Events and Schedules
Tournament Competition

Double round robin to determine placing for medal round (if venue(s) allow).
FIVB procedures to be utilized to determine the initial seeding of teams.

Matches are best of three
·
Top
four teams advance to the finals

If qualified coaches are available, one must be female and one male.
The following athletes are considered elite and therefore ineligible to compete.
· Members of the Canadian National Junior Volleyball Team,
· Any athlete that has competed for any nation in the World Championships,
· Any athlete that has ever held a senior card as defined by Sport Canada

6.
Arctic Winter Games Rule Modifications
a. See FIVB rules for tie breaking procedures
b. If a team misses a match it will forfeit that match but will be allowed to continue in the tournament. The match results will be scored ‘X’ Games to 0 (‘X’ being the minimum number of Games required to win a match). The score for each game in these matches will be recorded as ‘Y’ Points to 0 (‘Y’ being the minimum number of points required to win a game).
