                                         BADMINTON

TECHNICAL PACKAGE

 

  

1.                  RULES: This competition will be conducted under the rules and sanction of the Badminton World Federation except as noted below.

 

2.                  CATEGORIES:

 

            (a)       Junior Male:               born in 1991 or later

            (b)       Junior Female:          born in 1991 or later

            (c)        Juvenile Male:            born in 1994 or later

            (d)       Juvenile Female:       born in 1994 or later

 

3.                  EVENTS:

 

            For all categories:

·        Singles

·        Doubles

·        Mixed Doubles

 

The Host Society will submit a draft schedule format to the Arctic Winter Games International Committee by October 2009 for approval.  The target total competition time for each day for each contingent is eight hours

 

4.                  TEAM COMPOSITION: Each Games Unit may enter a team comprised of a maximum of eight (8) players and two (2) coaches, as follows:

 

            Junior Male                - 2

            Junior Female           - 2    

            Juvenile Male             - 2

            Juvenile Female        - 2    

            Coaches                    - 2

 

One coach must be female and one male.  If a coach from one gender is not available a chaperon must be substituted.

 

5.                  MEDALS:

 

Individually by event:

 

            Gold                            - 16

            Silver                          - 16

            Bronze                        - 16

 

6.                  ARCTIC WINTER GAMES RULES

 

1.      If an athlete forfeits a match in the round robin portion of the tournament due to injury or illness they will not be required to forfeit all future matches in the tournament and may continuing competing if they are able to do so.
