TABLE TENNIS
1.
RULES:
This
competition will be conducted under the rules of International Table Tennis
Federation.
2.
CATEGORIES:
Junior Male & Female
born in 1992 or later
Juvenile Male & Female:
born in 1995 or later
3.
EVENTS AND SCHEDULES:
Events
a.
Singles
–
Competition will be held in each category by gender
b.
Doubles
–
Competition will be held in each category by gender
c.
Team
Event
–
Each Unit
shall enter a team consisting of two (2) players in each age category (same
gender) playing one singles match each against their respective opponents
followed by a doubles match against their opponents.
The
combined results of these competitions will determine the final team positions
in each category by gender.
Schedules
a.
The
Host Society shall develop the initial competition draws for all events.
b.
In
events with five (5) or less competitors / teams, the players of the top two
teams from the team event in the previous Arctic Winter Games will be seeded in
positions A and B.
c.
In
events with six (6) or more competitors / teams, the players of the top two
teams from the team event in the previous Arctic Winter Games will be seeded in
separate pools in the top positions.
d.
In
events with five (5) or less competitors / teams, a round robin competition will
be held to determine medal and other positions.
e.
In
events with six (6) or more competitors / teams, a round robin of two pools will
be held with the top two competitors / teams moving forward to an elimination
format competition to determine medal and fourth place positions.
f.
The
schedule shall be designed in such a way as to limit the total time that any one
athlete must be at the competition facility to eight hours or less per day.
4.
TEAM
COMPOSITION:
Each
Games Unit may enter a team comprised of a maximum of eight (8) players and two
(2) coaches, as follows:
Junior Male

Coaches
- 2
One
coach must be female and one male.
If a coach from one
gender is not available a chaperon of the same gender must be substituted.
5.

Individually by event by the Individual competition and individually for
the Team competition:

6.
FACILITY NOTES
The
Host Society shall try to provide a minimum of eight tables for competition and
two tables for warm ups within a playing area sufficient in size to meet the
requirements outlined in ITTF rules for this competition.
