SNOWBOARDING

 

1.                  RULES:  This competition will be conducted under the rules of the Fédération Internationale de Ski and the Canadian Snowboard Federation as modified by the Arctic Winter Games International Committee.  (Units and the Host Society are reminded that there may be special insurance requirements under these rules.)

 

2.                  CATEGORIES:       

 

            Junior Male:               Born in 1991 or later

            Junior Female:          Born in 1991 or later

            Juvenile Male:            Born in 1993 or later

            Juvenile Female:       Born in 1993 or later

           

3.                  EVENTS:                                         

 

i.        Banked Slalom (male/female)

ii.      Slopestyle (male/female)

iii.    Snowboardcross (male/female)

iv.     ˝ pipe (male/female)

 

Ulus will be awarded in each of these categories.  Ulus will also be awarded to the athletes in all four categories who achieve the best overall performance in all three events. 

 

4.                  TEAM COMPOSITION: Each Games Unit may enter a team comprised of a maximum of eight (8) athletes and two (2) coaches as follows:

 

            Junior Male                - 2       

            Junior Female           - 2

            Juvenile Male             - 2

            Juvenile Female        - 2

            Coaches                    - 2

           

One coach must be female and one male.  If a coach from one gender is not available a chaperon must be substituted.

 

5.                  MEDALS:      Individually by event:

 

            GOLD             - 20

            SILVER          - 20

            BRONZE        - 20

 

6.                  VENUE SPECIFICATIONS:  The 2010 Arctic Winter Games Host Society will provide venue specifications as soon as they are available.
