ARCTIC WINTER GAMES LOSES A CHAMPION MARCH 28,2011

 

 

The Arctic Winter Games is a high profile circumpolar sport competition for northern and arctic athletes.  The Games provide an opportunity to strengthen sport development in the participants’ jurisdictions, to promote the benefits of sport, to build partnerships, and to promote culture and values.  The Games celebrate sport, social exchange and cultures. The Games provide an opportunity for the developing athlete to compete in friendly competition while sharing cultural values from northern regions around the world.

SPORTS SELECTED FOR THE 2012 WHITEHORSE ARCTIC WINTER GAMES - The International Committee maintains 2012 participation numbers  at levels similar to previous Games with the elimination of FreestyleSkiing. The Committee also announces that it will move towards a maximum of two categories for each gender in all sports as early as 2014.  Cross country skiing and indoor soccer were identified as two sports that might be impacted by this decision. for Press Release click Here..........
